Barreracudas - Nocturnal Missions LP/CD

The city of Atlanta and the DMR gang are happy to announce the release of the Barreracudas appropriately titled debut record. Somewhere between The Heartbreakers (Petty) and The Heartbreakers (Thunders), the Barreracudas found a well of inspiration just deep enough to produce one of the biggest foot tappers of the year. Their sound shouldn’t come as a great surprise as most of these guys have been playing with Gentleman Jesse and His men for the past couple of years. While you wont find them dressed like their Heartbreaking predecessors, The Barreracudas have bound elements of 70’s dirt and glam with the radio friendliness of the likes of Dwight Twilley and Phil Seymore. You’ll discern no Pulitzer worthy poetry in the lyric sheet, but you will find eleven original tracks with hooks more infectious than encephalitis and a pretty sweet cover of Cheap Trick’s Come On, Come On. 100 limited copies are on split colored vinyl. King Louie's Missing Monuments - Painted White LP

Royal Pendletons, Persuaders, Bad Times, Exploding Hearts, King Louie One Man Band, Kajun SS, Loose Diamonds, Black Rose Band and now Missing Monuments. King Louie Bankston’s impressive band resume has the tendency to make regular folk feel unproductive. There are likely another dozen bands that we forgot to list. And while many of us are familiar with Louie on stage and the Louie that parties your town to smithereens after his set, I must honestly say that this is the hardest working guy we have ever had the pleasure of working with. It is a privilege and honor to announce the release of King Louie’s Missing Monuments debut album Painted White.
Painted White is a testament to Louie’s versatility as a songwriter and his ability to do pretty much anything but rap. Painted White is cleaned up, jangly, full of hooks and Louie’s coarse signature melodies. Stylistically, Painted White covers all the necessary bases. It’s got R’N’R jams, ballads, a super noodley track and our personal favorite, (It’s Like) XTC. Swear to god I thought this was a Raspberries song at first. Look for Missing Monuments on tour with the legendary Paul Collins next month. 100 copies are obviously on white vinyl, and all copies come with complimentary download cards. Cola Freaks – Cola Freaks LP (DMR 044). After a very impressive series of singles, we are pleased to announce the release of the debut LP from Denmark’s Cola Freaks. Cola Freaks sound like a scheduled and perfectly executed panic attack. The songs these guys produce are as scrupulous as they are frenzied and eerie, however. Rare is it that a band can employ frequent direction change and herky jerky song structure and still command total attention. Cola Freaks singles have habitually drawn comparisons to European KBD bands and Mr. Jay Reatard, and the LP does not stray much in that regard. Quick, clean and nervous is sort of the Cola Freaks MO, and that’s precisely what you’ll get with this record. 100 copies are available on red/white split colored vinyl.

Predator – Predator LP (DMR 043) Our new years resolution in 2011 was to refrain from using the words “pop” or “catchy.” We’re sticking to our guns on this release at least as this LP is a punk behemoth. If you remember the Frantic, you know that Mike and Brannon don’t pick up instruments without asking themselves what Rick Agnew would do. This record is short and deliberate, but you can definitely pick up tinges of post punk too. The Adolescents worship continues, but you get the idea they may be secretly digging Warsaw. Comes with a download, fool. 1000 black vinyls.

Talbot Adams - Jack and Jesse EP

In case you've forgotten already, Talbot was the front man for The Black and Whites. With the birth of his twin boys, Talbot had to keep the noise down a bit and wrote some quieter stuff. Super sweet and frankly touching stuff from former wild man turned dad. He does it Douche Master style with four songs all under two minutes. This stuff is boogie free, straight forward, hook laden rock n’ roll. He told us before we heard it that it was the catchiest stuff he’d worked on in years, and he was true to his word. Sans objectivity, I must freely admit that I fucking love this record! TJ lives in Chicago and plays in CoCoComa. The other dudes are somewhere in Indiana. The Half Rats are sort of Doo-wopish on a poor man’s recording budget. It’s catchy as hell but not overly joyful or silly. An undeniable sixties vibe and great vocal hooks. Edition of 600. Finally! The King of Weird Punk finds himself on Douche Master. If there were a budget rock hall of fame, Timmy Vulgar would almost have to be one of the first inductees. It’s always a thrill to see what Timmy will do next, either in a studio or perhaps walking down the street. The A side is grimy as hell and sounds a bit like early Dead Boys. B side carries a similar vibe but with a healthy dose of heroine soaked early Bad Seeds. Edition of 600. April 13, 2010.

Crusaders of Love - Never Grow Up LP

We reached across the pond again and came up, this time, with an LP from France’s Crusaders of Love. With members of Happy Burger, we figured we probably had as close to a sure thing as we were gonna get. If you’re familiar with their singles, you’ll probably notice a departure from the psychedelic in favor of garage pop on the LP. With the exception of a track on the B-side that sounds kind of like Spacemen 3, it’s a pretty jangly and happy record throughout. A perfect fit for Douche Master fans! 100 copies are on split yellow and red vinyl and comes with a download thingy. Release date is March 16, 2010. Be cool and check them out on their U.S. tour starting May 20, 2010 as well.

We're currently working on several records that we are very excited about including LPs from Crusaders of Love, Buzzer, Predator and singles from The Half Rats, Timmy's Organism, and King Louie's Missing Monuments. Bad Sports - S/T LP (DMR 035).
Denton , TX is the equivalent for Douchemaster Records of a bar you can always go into and always expect to get laid afterwards. In this case she's particularly young and hopped up on speed. If you missed the two Bad Sports singles from 2008, then you don't know about their major league hooks and their seemingly unchallenged quickness. Bad Sports are a three piece that features TV's Daniel from Wax Museums and Greg Rutherford from High Tension Wires. Orville just sits around and writes most of the songs. Bad Sports are a bit more playful, but don't be surprised if this record reminds you slightly of The Reds or the first Marked Men LP. Their debut LP features fourteen songs, and the official release date is Nov. 17, 2009. 100 copies are available on split red and black vinyl.

The Mojomatics -Another Cheat on Me 7"

The Mojomatics - Another Cheat on Me 7" (DMR 034). The Mojomatics have been kicking around Europe for several years but have never been formally introduced in the USA. So everybody meet the Mojomatics. They are a two piece from Italy, and they already have three LPs out on Alien Snatch. D~M~R is delighted to offer their first ever US release. Despite only having two official members, The Mojomtaic's records are anything but bare. At the end of the day they are a rock n' roll band, but they can be bluesy as hell without coming off at all swampish. If you're looking for a frame of reference, Mojomatics give a similar vibe to Goodnight Loving when GNL is doing their more upbeat stuff. In addition they've just completed their first tour of the USA, so we hope you got a chance to see them. 100 are on limited edition red vinyl. Release date is November 3, 2009.

The White Wires - Self Titled LP (DMR 033). What a sigh of relief these are finally here. If you're still in the dark on this one, The White Wires are a three piece from Ottawa. This LP was originally released by Going Gaga Records on Novemer 8, 2008 in a quantity of 325 copies. Those of you lucky enough to score a copy before it went out of print were well aware of how urgently this record needed to be available again, and we are flattered to be the people responsible for that. It's a perfect summer time record yet it is just in time for the holiday season for the second consecutive year. The White Wires have found a harmonious balance somewhere between the lands of goofy and cool, and their songs reflect that brilliantly. This LP features nine songs of maximum sing-a-long-ability without a trace of pretense. A couple of listens and you'll be planning imaginary BBQ's with The White Wires as your entertainment and guests of honor. 100 are on limited edition red vinyl, so buy them up before the November 3rd release date. This album is also available for download pretty much anywhere that you can download music.

Hex Dispensers - Winchester Mystery House LP/CD

Austin's Hex Dispensers are back with their sophomore album, and it pretty much picks up exactly where the previous LP ended. If you've been paying attention over the past few years, you know that the Hex Dispensers are masters in the art of spewing forth short bursts of haunted fury. D~M~R isn't exactly known for it's story tellers, but Winchester Mystery House offers a thematically torturous series of songs concentrating on the horrors of love, life, sailing, skin masks, and the end of it all. The good news is that there are twelve songs, so there is an opportunity to feel satiated. One of those songs being a Devo cover, and another being "My Love is a Bat" from the Euro tour single that most of us on this side of the water didn't get a chance to own. Edition of 1500. 100 of those are black splattered, blue vinyl available exclusively from D~M~R. (SOLD OUT). Another 100 are half blue, half red and will be available exclusively through Red Devil Records at their anniversary party in San Francisco on July 17th. Winchester Mystery House will be available in Europe via Alien Snatch in the next couple of weeks. Release date is July 14, 2009.

Stolen Hearts - Heart Collector 7"
I know just what you're thinking. Believe me I do. When GG called back in February to tell me that his best girl had and her friends had started and band and that he was playing in it, I couldn't imagine having any interest in this recording. Then I heard the recording, and within about thirty seconds I was in. In keeping with tradition of D~M~R releases, the backbone here is simplicity. The ballad-esque intro to Heart Collector gives off a Spector-style vibe, but they quickly hasten the tempo to allow their two originals to come off as an awesome Teen Line style band. Ashley's vocals may be the star of the show. They sound experienced and even sultry at times while retaining the innocent charm that allows a band with this sort of pop sensibility to work....even if she is singing about lighting dudes on fire. A killer debut from Atlanta's Stolen Hearts. Super cool Sponsors cover on the flip side is a winner too. 100 are on white vinyl. Edition of 1000. Release date is May, 28 2009.

Davila 666 - Pingorocha y la Diva Rockera 7"
I have no idea what these guys are singing about, but it sure does sound good. (I took four years of French. Don't know a lick of Spanish). If you got the In The Red LP, then you know what the garage pop pride of Puerto Rico are all about. If not, you need to get learned in a hurry because these guys are on to some next level shit, and they're bringing it to the continental USA in July. These guys have the rare ability to bounce around stylistically and remain completely cohesive thanks to vocal patterns that offer hook after hook. I'm generally pretty tired of our releases by the time I get around to writing about them, but I'll likely need a new stylus before this record is retired to the collection. Three songs of sheer genius. 100 are black with maybe a discernible trace of white. Edition of 1000. Release date is May, 28 2009.

Bobby Ubangi is the epitome of fundamental rock n' roll. Active ingredients on this one include: house, four track, instruments that touring bands accidentally left at previously mentioned house, and friends with rudimentary playing skills that like to hang out at previously mentioned house. Short and simple has been Bobby's style for years, and he's sticking to his guns. D~M~R is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Mr. Ubangi, as he has been an absolute inspiration to us and the Atlanta music scene. We love you, Bobby! 100 are on blue marble vinyl. The Barreracudas - New York Honeys 7"
The Barreracudas are part of the new wave of Atlantans strapping on guitars for D~M~R. These dudes have been kicking around Atlanta for years under different titles, and they've finally found a home at the bottom. Congratulations fellas! We've felt like these guys were on to something for a long time, so when they came to us with a new band and these two tracks we were totally sold. It's got a generous dose of 70's bar rock vibe but with quicker tempos and moderately blown out vocals. It's easy to utilize influences from 1970 to '75 and come off like clowns wearing ass hats, but we think The Barreracudas did a great job of avoiding the pretense of the era and getting it right on the money. 100 are on blue vinyl. Release date is April 28, 2009.

Happy Burger - Pizza All Around 7"

In spite of living in the heart of the culinary universe, our French friends known as Happy Burger have found none other than pizza and burgers as their songwriting muses. The argument is as fundamental as chicken vs. the egg, but in the eyes and mouths of these Frenchies, the cheeseburger loses a nail biter to the pizza. Four songs. Simple and short with mandatory French garage production. Jonathan Richman would be proud. Jacques Pepin would be horribly disappointed. Us at D~M~R are just par for the course. First 100 on red.

GG King - Adult Rock 7"

If the brow raising title of this record has you concerned that Greg Carbona and D~M~R have lost their collective minds and released a rap record, rest assured that this is not the case. It may also be confusing that this is not a Carbonas record since Greg, Jesse, and Chris play on the record, Dave mastered it, and Clay's fictional (for now) biography is pictured on the jacket. You should believe with perfect certainty, however, that the songwriting on GG King's debut single doesn't stray far from the stylistics employed by his previous outfit for the most part of the last decade. This one has two songs that are so brief and unforgettable that most of us will be pissed we didn't write them ourselves. We hope this will be the first of many from Mr. GG King. 100 on blue vinyl.

Since the Spring of 2006, New York’s Baby Shakes have released two singles and one ten-inch. All of which are now out of print. Each new record proved much better than the one before, and now we’re ready to lay it all out there in the form of their first full length LP/CD with complete confidence that this record follows the same trend. The First One is the title, and it contains ten songs with licks as good as the looks. The Baby Shakes haven’t parted with the pop sensibility that was the backbone of their previous releases, but they have successfully figured out to incorporate the influences of all those glam records littering up their tiny New York apartments. The album has a few quick poppy tunes, but the majority of the record feels like Slade wrote a bunch of songs for the Shivvers. And that’s a good thing! The First One also features remarkable production (and drumming) from Mr. Dave Rahn of The Carbonas and Gentleman Jesse. First 100 are half blue, half pink. Enjoy!

The Bay Area’s latest buzz is from a band called Buzzer. This proto punk three-piece features dudes from The Impediments behind Andy Jordan of The Cuts and The Time Flys. Buzzer’s debut three-song single generates the same mid 70’s adoration as Jordan’s previous projects sans the sleaziness of the Flys and the drug induced euphoria into which The Cuts would often drift. The marching snare on Disco Kiddz makes you wanna get real high and play flag football with your not-to-particularly-tough friends. “Cool Feeling” is essentially a glam popper, but the other two tracks sorta remind me of early Pere Ubu with Verlaine on vocals. First 100 are on white vinyl.

Somebody Pissed On Our Mainframe

Attention everyone that has ordered Gentleman Jesse LP's or Lover!/LiveFastDie splits. On July 4th, our computer system crashed. We've have a new and improved computer, but much of our data was not properly backed up and it is yet to be determined if we will be able to recover it. We have everyone's pre order information, and your records will be shipped as soon as possible. However, the crash has interrupted the packing and shipping process, so expect slight delays. If your package hasn't arrived by Friday the 11th, do not panic. The July 8 release date is officially unachievable. We hope to have the majority of the orders out by the 11th, and most wholesale orders will be shipped the 15th. We profusely apologize for any delayed shipments and guarantee you absolute satisfaction when these records hit your turn tables.

Black and Whites lp/cd

DMR is pleased to offer the debut LP/CD by Oxford, Mississippi's The Black and Whites. Since the recordings that produced the first three Black and Whites singles, leader Talbot Adams replaced a rotating cast of players with Preacher's Kids member Johnny Valiant on guitar and vocals and Pat McKeage of the Dutchmasters on drums. Talbot and Johnny split the songwriting duties on this record as well, and the result for the most part is a faster, wilder, Ramone-esque Black and Whites. You'll probably want a beer and a smoke before the end of the first song. It's very apparent these guys had a lot of fun writing this record. If I had to speculate I'd guess they wrote most of this record in a smoky, urine scented dive in rural Mississippi. Get your party started with the Black and Whites.
